We reported earlier that ivi was going to start offering the Los Angeles market soon. We just received an email update that said:
ivi CHANNEL UPDATE: ivi TV will be launching the Los Angeles market next week and then we are off to Chicago and should have those channels available near the end of November.
Adding the LA market is great but with adding in the Chicago market they will be able to give you network shows in 3 different time zones. This will make it easy for you to catch a show at a different time in the event that you may have missed it. You can even use the timezone change to watch your show earlier than normal if you live out west.
Pretty cool stuff!
Makes me wonder how many folks have tried ivi.tv yet. If you have tried it let us know what you think about the service.

Today 11/6 I found KCBS & KNBC from Los Angeles. Let me tell you this service is incredible, however I am not sure anybody works there? I never received a Conf# when signing up using my Credit Card or with an email to Customer Service. I had no idea this type of live video could be provided with no buffering, and will even work at super slow internet speeds, although the program is very buggy at any speed. Many areas of the Country don't get TV, and I would be a customer for life, however we will see where the legal actions will take this company!

Seems like their announcements are premature. LA did not go up as scheduled and Chicago is still missing. Why doesn't IVI either deliver on the dates they announce, inform users of delays or just say nothing at all? I wouldn't be anticipating CHI locals if they hadn't released the info, but now I'm wondering when it will be here.
Good question. It sounds like they might have been working on a deal an it fell through. Hopefully we will hear something from them soon.

Did everyone here get the ivi billing email with a mistake in it. I think the owner wrote me back at 11PM!

Minutes later they wrote back!
Thank you for contacting us,
Our apologies for a hastily written message that should have been better proof-read.
The word "avoid" should have been deleted.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Oh crap, IVI is history as of today. Best $4.95 I ever spent!
A notice to all ivi TV subscribers and interested parties.
As you may be aware we have been in a fight to provide affordable Cable TV for the Internet.
Today the Southern District Court of New York granted a preliminary injunction in the case 1:10-cv-07415-NRB. We will be appealing the decision in the second circuit but in the interim we must shut-down most of our broadcast channel offerings.
We believe the court made an error in the ruling and will be appealing the decision supported by many public interest groups. But we cannot do it alone. In return, we ask that you support them. If you can, visit Public Knowledge and/or EFF to leave a donation.
In the interim we are suspending invoicing for ivi Air and ivi Pro, so it is not necessary to cancel subscriptions. As soon as we can restore the channels we will resume the subscriptions from that point forward.
We will continue to carry a number of channels and will be adding channels from broadcasters and content providers as we grow.
Thank you for your support,
The ivi TV team
Yup,
As we posted here. http://placeshiftingenthusiasts.com/forum/general-internet-tv-com…..sions/judg…..-tv/#p3852
ivi.tv has had an injunction on their streaming abilities.
I see they have stopped billing anyone that had signed up for their service so it appears that folks will need to wait out the appeal which could take a long time. ![]()
