I would appreciate some advice as to the best place shifting products to use in my situation.  We have a lake condo in a complex that has a Wi-Fi internet connection.  My objective, given the limited time spent at this location, is to access via the internet the digital TV (not HD) cable box at my office.  We also may occasionally access online movies.  The upload speed at the office is 4.7 mbps while the download speed at the cabin is 1.0 mbps.  Again, I do not require HD, but want access to local channels and sports channels to watch on a TV.  After researching I was about to go with a Slingbox Solo at the office, and at the cabin a Logitech Revue (since a Sling Player ap has recently been released) connected via Wi-Fi to the internet and cables to the TV.  However, I have found this site and would like the advice of experts to make sure I am not missing a more favorable solution.  Is there an alternative to either device that would work as well?  If so, what hardware would be needed and what would you recommend?  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The 1MB download speed is a little low and if there is an issue with congestion or high traffic use, you may have some problems.

You would not need more than the Solo since you can't use HD at that speed and the Revue should work. I have not sen any discussion on low speeds and how it may affect the Revue.

For about the same total expense (around $250.00) you could also get a Vulkano Flow and a Vulkano Lava. The Lava will 'Catch' the stream from the Flow and also has built in Wi-Fi. The Lava is kinda new but initial tests seem promising.

Thanks Brandon.  From your comment I looked at the Vulkano products.  Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that the keyboard with the Revue will make surfing the internet and checking email easier than with the Vulkano Lava.  I see issues with the Revue update, but they seem to relate mostly to Flash problems which I don’t believe I will encounter.  As to download speed, the Slingbox Solo website alleges that for SD viewing the minimum requirement is 384kbps.  One thought is to get a refurb Revue for $80 to see how it performs, and if download speeds are no issue then get Slingbox.  Any comments appreciated.

The Revue should make things easier to do all you want. Far as the 384kbps speed goes it will work but the resolution would be something like 320x240.

Basically this is something you are going to have to try and test before you can really tell if it will work for you.

If you can get a Slingbox and a Revue with the option to return if not satisfied then that is probably the way to go.
