Solve your remote viewing resolution performance problems once and for all!  I did!  I bought Monsoon's Vulkano Flow!  It steams in H,264 codec format from Seattle WA to Germany at 2Mb and standard def!  Amazing!  After 6 years of inconsistent bitrate streaming from a Slingbox Solo, I began an extensive learning, testing, and checking process to try and solve my low Kbps stream of only 350 Kbps.  With the Solo, I had experienced anywhere from 1.7 Mb to the low of 300Kbps.  Most of the time it performed at the undesirable low of 350Kbps.  My last tests included having friends here in Germany with other ISPs run a test, having friends in Seattle with different ISP run tests, all resulting with the same low 350 Kbps.  That told me that the problem lies either in the Solo firmware, or the Sling Media server where the connection takes place and NOT in any "hops" it makes between the two.  Even watching directly from the Slingbox.com performed at 350Kbps.  I then learned of the various codec standards and learned of H.264 which uses much less broadband to stream.  My Solo streams in WMV (Windows Media Video) a much larger codec.  I then learned of the Flow by Monsoon which streams in H.264.  I had tried to talk with Sling Media service and was completely put off or told I would have to pay for information.  ( I know many are aware of Sling Media infamous customer service record)  I called Monsoon (not even being a customer yet) and the Tech gave me all the info I needed and more.  More importantly, I gave him my data (5.7 Mb upload speed at LAN and 6Mb download at remote viewing network) and he guaranteed streaming at or close to 2Mb and standard resolution!  Also Monsoon gives a money back guarantee!  Selling at $99.00 compared to Solo at $179.99, it's a no brainer!  I bought the Flow. My sister swapped out the Solo for the Flow.  She did the install and configuration (which is easy schmeasy!) and I was streaming at 2Mb and std res!  OMG!!!!  I use Vulkano PC Player by click and drag to display on a Samsung 46" LED via Onkyo TX-NR906 surround sound in 7.1 and it is killer!  This IS the answer to all your streaming troubles!  Stop wasting time with that other product.  Check out the Flow!  For an entry level product, it blows Slingbox Solo off the map!  Why doesn't Sling Media create a firmware update for H.264? I would guess because it is under powered for that format, therefore the problem.  Otherwise, I just don't understand why… Ok, that's my story… happy streaming with Vulkano Flow!  If you have any questions regarding placeshifting, I would be happy to try and answer you from my experiences. r

The Flow works pretty good. At $100.00 its a sweet deal. It doesn't do everything the Vulkano Deluxe Pro does but if you just need to place shift it is something that just plain works.
