The Slingbox Pro-HD was introduced in 2008. It is almost a half decade later! Is there a next generation on the horizon? Is there any real information out there besides speculation?

I have not heard anything lately but Sling Media is well known for keeping their new stuff a secret. People have been fired for just hinting at things.

They also are very strict when it comes to their Beta testers too.

Would be nice if they came out with a new box that accepted HDMI connections.

Looks like they emailed out a survey about what game consoles people would like to Sling from. Maybe that's their next deal. http://www.zatznotfunny.com/2012-08/slingplayer-headed-to-gaming-consoles/

Course that's not a new box just new types of Sling Catchers.

Well, the timing seems to be very interesting…

I bet the hardware is set, now just functionality.

Maybe a new box in time for Christmas? We'll know if they go on sale at places like Best Buy…
