Hello folks,
New to the site and there is quite a bit of information to take in trying to get what I want out of the box.

I received my Pro-HD and internet slingcatchers hooked it up with the component wires to the Cox Cable box and everything works great. But that way gives me control of the cable box. So I hooked up the coaxial cables instead and that gave me independent control of what channels I was watching but nothing for viewing what was on the cable box DVR.

Current set-up:
Coaxial cable from wall to Input of Pro-HD
Coaxial cable from Pro-HD output to input of cable box
Cable box HDMI out to TV input

I’m guessing and have not tried it yet, but along with this setup, can I also connect the component wires to the Pro-HD and then I will have to change the input setting in slingbox setup on the web site when I want to view what is on the DVR or is there a better way to do this without having to make changes in the setup every time?????

On another note the onscreen remote is not like the one I have which is a (DCT6412 III) they only show a DCT6416 III. So that will be my next task to getting it to work.

What I suggest is you get a cable splitter and run one to the Slingbox and other to the Cable box.

Then component out from cable box to Slingbox and then from Slingbox to TV. Don't use the HDMI cable.

Run IR emitters to Cable box.

Then setup the two different inputs in the Slingbox setup program and switch to the desired input as needed.

Thanks for the help, I was afraid I was going to have to do that. But I guess it is what it is.
One other question on setting up two different inputs in slingbox. Can I setup the same slingbox giving it two different names? That would make it better to deal with. That way you could just switch to the other name? Hope this makes since.

Thanks Brandon C.

I can't think of an easy way to give the outputs different Slingbox names. It's pretty easy to switch between inputs in the player though.

Alan R created some kind of video switcher remote skin that might help but I haven't had a chance to play with it.  I will when I get a chance and put it up for DL with instructions.
