slingbox solo will not take pal component signal

I have a 2nd hand slingbox solo bought from USA.  It will not take pal component signal.  I tested it with a dvd player which can switch between pal/ntsc and I got no video if the dvd player is set to pal.  However, I checked on slingbox kb and it says that solo should support ntsc/pal/secom.  I dont know why my solo will not.

 

The slingbox solo was activated back in 2009.  Could it be the case that back then the solo only took ntsc?

I assume you did a hard reset of the Solo before trying to set it up but if not I would do that first.

From what I understand all Solos will work with either a Pal or NTSC input but I guess there may be a possibility that one of the original ones did not.

Early Sling Solo's from the US are NTSC only and all US models bought in the USA are NTSC.
