My Slingcatcher started having an issue connecting to the network.  The network light won't light up on the Slingcatcher, but it lights up on my router.  My router is brand new.  Does the Slingcatcher have issues with the capacitors also?  It works sometimes, but not all the time.  I'm thinking maybe bad capacitors like the other slingbox products have.

Good possibility that it is a bad power supply. If you have another you can test with I would start with that.

Exactly, try another powersupply first. Mine failed after about 1-2 years as well.

Don't bother ordering power supply from Sling media, just use any power supply with the right voltage (5V, I think).

@ rezna11 - The problem goes away when I go directly into my router.  I was using a wireless Netgear box that uses an cat5e cable from it into the Slingcatcher.

@ Micke0 - How did you open your power supply?  I thought it was sealed.  Please advise.

Yes, as You wrote, it was...

...no more!

Please never ever make my broken powersupply-picture public in the sling-forum!

You will be "banned" directly without any warning! Houserules?

At least they nowadays admit that it could be "some" problems with this equipment!

Then the Slingcatcher is probably OK. Might be a DHCP issue. Try setting up the IP address on your Slingcatcher manually.

Switched out the wireless adapter and put it back on a cat5e cable.  No more problems.

Thanks,

Joseph
