Hello,

I have recently got a fabulous Slingcatcher which works perfectly. However, as I watching in a different location to the actual HDS-600RS Slingloaded box I haven't got that remote here to program the Slingcatcher remote.

On the HDS-600RD the colored keys forward the TV guide by +1 day or by 2.5hrs. And also minus time in the same way which is very handy when scrolling the Freesat guide to set recordings.

Is the only way for me to set up the Slingcatcher remote to perform these functions by holding the 2 remotes opposite each other in the same way I have to set the Slingcatcher remote to operate my TV? (obviously i can't do this).

It says on the Slingbox website that you can press OPT and then scroll left and right to the command you want to assign to each colored button. However, there are very few commands and some blank 'custom' numbers. Is that where I would assign a command from another remote?

Thanks All!

I have also just noticed that to delete a recording from the DVR library on the HDS 600RS I need to use the red button. Is this going to be possible from the Slingcatcher remote?

If not I'll have to delete programs I've watched via slingplayer or slingplayer.com

Thanks again!

I am going to have to defer to Alan R on the remote setup for the Catcher he is way more familiar with the remote setup than I.

But if you do setup your Slingbox and use the standalone player you may see the same code numbers shown as opposed to what they actually do. You can try them there and use the same with your Catcher.

Brandon,

Unfortunately you can't set up an HDS-RS600 with the Slingplayer….only via the website.

I'll await a response from Alan!

Brandon/Alan,

OK…sorted it! The problem was I was expecting the descriptions of the buttons on my slingcatcher to match those on my HDS-600RS. In fact all you see are the words 'custom 10', 'custom 11' etc.

I had to basically go to the guide and try each custom function until i worked out which matched the functions on the HDS-600RS. It still says 'custom' when I press it on my Catcher and displays that oncreen but the function now works!

Basically- it's perfect. I hope my Catcher never breaks!

Good deal. Glad you figured it out.
