Hello all, thanks for a fantastic forum.

Like most Slingcatcher buyers I purchased mine back in 2008 with the intention of watching my TV in a different room and nothing more. However, with the advent of Mass storage devices I have become more and more keen to use the Slingcatcher to play my media files on.

I was looking at this forum for any tips and tricks to show more thumbnail art, sync in a smarter way etc and discovered that SlingSync can do this for you.  However I cannot find it anywhere!!!

Unfortunatley the link posted here takes you to the slingmedia site but no download.  The Slingmedia forum doesnt help at all.  If someone has access to SlingSync I would very much appreciate it.

Many, Many thanks in advance

The SlingSync program used to be included with the Projector program. Then they took it out of the Projector install and went with a stand alone install for it.

Then they removed it completely from their download pages. Frown

It is a fairly old program and others have said that is does not work on Windows 7 so that is maybe why they removed it.

I probably have it on my old backup server but right now the server is offline while I move some equipment around. If you can't find it elsewhere in a few days, let me know and I should have the server back up by then.

One of the things it does is convert your videos to a format that the SlingCatcher can play. You could do the same with other converter programs but you would first need to determine what plays and what doesn't on the SlingCatcher.

If you find it I would like to be able to obtain it also.

Brandon my friend you are a legend!

I have spent the past 10 days trawling through various search engines and forums and have not been even close to locating it so if you get a chance in the next week or so that would be great.

I have a PC still running vista so the W7 issue is not one that concerns me.  Im hoping Sling will provide further support in the future but it doesnt look good for us "old school streamers".

Thanks again Brandon  – its people like you that make forums like this the best on the net.

Hey Brandon,

Did you locate s SlingSync download? I can't find one anywhere online and I just bought another SlingCatcher- great device.

SlingSync sounds like it could be very useful.

Thanks!

I did come across a UK version that should work for you.
