Just accidentally I had Slingcatcher Reset button pressed which turn it to Recovery mode. Not a big deal but instead of doing recovery and booting to as it happened before, it shows Error Code 13. Could not find what this code mean anywhere, some folks on SlingMedia forum say you need to contact customer support to get a firmware file to upload it manually through USB port. Being not sure whether support will help me I am asking if anyone of you experienced similar issue and where such file can be found? And whether it is indeed possible to do manual recovery through USB port. A brief instruction for this procedure would be also very much appreciated. Cheers!
ps. it makes me wonder, why there is no Slingcatcher firmware anywhere in download section 
After a hard reset it is supposed to download the latest firmware when it reboots. Did you try a hard reset?
They may have a firmware file that you can load from USB but I don't know anyone that has it to share.
If someone finds it we would be glad to add it into our download area.

I have this weird feeling, that my catcher wont upgrade maybe because it is EU version purchased in UK but used in US. When connecting to SlingMedia servers, my catcher IP address as well as its version is checked and maybe it won't upgrade because it is used outside the UK (EU) territory. I heard a lot of rumors about SlingMedia being on a leash of couple of local US investors who potentially could make everything they can to make Catcher user life harder. The fact is catcher is not available in US for a long time because there are big players like dishNetwork who has implemented SlingBox functionality into one of their TiVo SAT boxes. I still remember talking to sling support, when purchasing brand new cachers and slingboxes from Amazon, once they found I used it outside UK territory, they told me they cant help me because of that and got disconnected. Can you believe that? This makes me believe there could be some drastic changes in support policy including blocking US users of EU catchers from being able to download the firmware. Note that extended warranty period of time has passed after last Slingcatcher was sold in US territory. Any ideas? Could that be a case? Has anyone of you who have EU catcher use din US is able to get out of recovery mode?
For my catcher, I checked the power adapter, it outputs perfect 5.20V check on the scope, it is DC no noise whatsoever. I tried to run it on two independent networks including the one I have in my house, which has not changed a bit since I purchased catcher and went through recovery mode at initial setup. I am surprised there is no simple explanation of Error Code 13 somewhere on SlingMedia website, there is even no email address where I cold send my support ticket. This is really starting to PMO.
I guess it's possible that it because it is in the US that it won't upgrade. I don't remember them making a different Sling Catcher for the UK than the one for the US but they may have.
DishNetwork now owns Slingbox so they probably nixed the SlingCatcher deal once they bought the company. I don't know about any US investor deal.
Sling wants you to call them to figure out the error code deal. I don't know why that is. It would be easier put more info about the Sling Catcher error codes on their site.
