Now, I'm confused… which file are you referring?  Properties.xml or Remote.xml?

I thought we were talking about the "remote.xml" file?  My post was referencing that file since that's what helped Dewdguy on his Mac.  I figured it was the focusing point, didn't realize "properties.xml" file was being used.

Yes we are.    Our original assumption was that PROPERTIES.XML held the defaults and REMOTE.XML allowed you to overrule the defaults.   Turns out that changing the shortcuts in REMOTE.XML has no effect and Brandon has found that deleting all the entries in PROPERTIES.XML has no effect.

So the bottom line is our remote is getting the shortcuts from somewhere other than PROPERTIES.XML and REMOTE.XML and we don't know where Smile

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't this just be a matter of the last file parsed takes presedence?  I know looking at the other remote.xml files that not every key map is reflected.  So, I assume the properties.xml file is the "default" and the remote.xml are the "exceptions".

i believe Brandon C is correct.  my very first attempt, after reading "how to edit your slingplayer remote skin part-2" was changing the "keys" in 004,005, 043 & 044.  after the changes, the slingplayer would not change channels without "=/-" keys.

so suggestion form eferz has been proven not working.  (sorry)

i wouldn't mind to try alan's idea tonite (after i get home), although i agree with Brandon C that this "most likely" would not work as well.

i really appreciate helps from you guys and would not mind trying any suggestion while beefing up my "editing" skill. :)

Don't bother, it doesn't work.

I dunno.  How about dropping the file into the skin directory?

Okay, the scene is barn.  Inside the barn is a Kentucky Fried Chicken procesing plant.  You can hear the screams of thousands of chickens as their feathers are being boiled off.

Your motivation, one of your chicks is lost and you think you might have seen a yellow blurr scurry into the barn.

And, "Action!"

Sheez you guys… You gotta wait for the old guy to catch up. Smile

First of all Alan, Now that I have seen your tuner remote skin, it's really cool. Great job on it.

Are you wanting something like this?

I made Channel Down = Pagedown on the Keyboard.

What you guys are fighting is the default.spr or default skin files XML.

Now if I can just remember how I did it. Maybe a few clicks on some ads will make me remember. :)
