Well my question is very simple and I hope I can get a simple reply as well :-)
I was following the instructions to install the folder "remote" which I update to "Custom Remote" but I cant find the folder to place it:
For Vista/WIN7 it will be C:\ProgramData\Sling Media\Slingplayer\2.0\Remotes\Custom Remote\
I use the latest slingplayer desktop but inside of C:\ProgramData\Sling Media\Slingplayer\ I can see many folders (Data, Epg, Fvr, Language, Plugins, SBAV, Setup assitant, Skin and a few files.
So where should I place the remotes folder?
I´m based in Portugal using the uk system…
Thank you.
Cheers.

The "Remotes" and "RemotesCustom Remote" folders don't currently exist. You'll have to create the "Remotes" folder and unzip the contents into a sub-directory "Custom Remote" within it. The path is correctly mentioned in the instructions provided with the custom remote zip file.
Btw, you're looking at "C:\Program Files\Sling Media" (etc) path since that's where "SBAV" folder exists. The correct path is "C:\ProgramData\Sling Media" (etc).

It looks like you are looking at the Program Files\ folder not the ProgramData folder.
A kind user has found out how to use this Remote with the Mac WebSlingPlayer, an update Version 1.0a is now available from here

Alan
This is a great remote replacement, but I have a slight prolem – I would like to override the standard keymap so that Record is triggered by N, rather than by Ctrl+Shift+R. No matter where I make this change the default keyboard shortcut never changes to N.
How do I change default keyboard shortcuts?
Thanks
James
The default keyboard commands are pretty much hard coded.
You can change them though. You would change the remote.xml and skin.xml files.
You have to change the key commands and create a new 'ID' So you would do something like this. Note the text is 'recrd' not 'record' on purpose.
<KeyMaps>
<Map key="029" cmd="id.remote.recrd" />
The the String commands have to be added so it says the correct thing when you hover with mouse.
<String cmd="id.remote.recrd" value="Record" />
Then the key commands are set for these new one.
<Shortcut cmd="id.remote.recrd" keys="N"/>
After that the Skin.XML file has to be changed to these new names.
id.remote.record is changed to id.remote.recrd

Thanks for the pointers – I finally got it going. Just one little change to your instructions – also add a shortcut attribute to the Map, this then displays the correct keyboard shortcut in the menu and on mouse hover.
One other thing – I actually needed this for the Web application rather than the Desktop app – I copied the files to AppData/Roaming/SlingMedia/WebSlingPlayer/Remote as it says in the instructions, and although this worked, it didn't pick up any edits. After using ProcessMonitor it seems that the files are actually cached in AppData/LocalLow/SlingMedia/WebSlingPlayer/Remote, so you need to update the files there.
I can now use my Harmony to control all functions on my SlingPlayer over the MediaCentre remote extender, so mission accomplished…
