Hello,

I have a Sling Pro HD in the States (2Mb Upload) streaming to France (5Mb Download). It worked great for the last three months and then last Tuesday it would only let me get a max of 300Kb. I have reset all boxes (Sling and Catcher), plus the cable boxes in both locations. I have checked the Internet connection speeds and their is no problem. It seems in the morning I can get for an half hour 2Mb speed, but quickly reduces the connectivity speeds to 300kb. Plus, I  have this same problem on my computer with connecting to the Slingbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would suspect that one of your service providers has implemented traffic shaping.

It starts fast, then degrades, usually to a nice round number.  From Japan most ISPs limit the international links to 1Mbit/sec.  For slingbox or TCP I see it start higher and gradually throttle back to about 850Kbit/sec for slingbox, or 130KByte/sec for TCP. For data, I can open multiple connections, and each one settles down to about 130Kbyte/sec.

For slingbox there isn't much you can do.

Roger.
