Hi, I have 6mb upload speed at my home connection. True speed is around 4 mb. However, my Slingbox Pro-HD with the coaxial connection only streams around 2mb to my remote connection
My question is.
1) Is it true that Slingbox Pro-HD will only stream around 2mb for coaxial input? ( anyone able to get higher upload speed with coaxial input?)
2) Has anyone able to get higher than QVGA quality for coaxial input?
Thanks.

Good questions. I haven't used the coax input much. Are you using it for digital or analog channels?

Hi,
I've actually given it a try and streaming speed is about the same as with any other connection – essentially it will 'grab' as much bandwidth as it can. However, one critical factor is your distance from the slingbox because that determines latency and that often has more impact than your upload speed. How far are you viewing it from?

The 'across the pacific ocean' part makes sense – the across the street sounds strange – are you sure that both: 1. the slingbox location upload 2. the 'across the street' download significantly exceeds 2mbps (especially #2 since you said #1 does prevail)?
My experience has been with my own 2 boxes and talking to others that you don't need to travel far to get down to 2mbps even if your upload is twice (a few hundred miles some times..) but not across the street.
THE BASIC QUESTION IS THE FOLLOWS (THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE REAL ANSWER):
what is the LOCAL speed you get on the the same LAN the slingbox is connected to BEFORE it gets to the public internet. In the case of slingbox solo it is around 5-6mbps proHD is 8-9mbps locally. If you see this speed you will know that this is the potential, if for some reason it is less then perhaps you should contact sling support because my experience has shown that all connections provide the same bit rate.
Let me know what you come up with and we'll take it from there
