Hello Daniel,
If it is a Slingbox pro (what I have), the input into the box is 5 Volts. Does the AC Adapter (sometimes called a power supply on these boards) that came with your Slingbox have 5V, 4 Amp written on it?
I 'd be surprised if Slingbox redesigned a version with a 9 Volt input. If the adapter has 5 Volt written, and you are measuring 9 Volts out… then the adapter is gone. (My adapter had 5.25V, but dropped to 3.3V under load .. when I saw this … I knew it was gone).
A quick test to see if the board "component" is ok, measure with a Volt Meter across the two pads on the left side of the component (referencing from the pictures above). You should measure approx. the Voltage specified on the output of your adapter. Same Voltage can also be read across the Right Side pads (… there will be a small Voltage difference).
The part I reference in my above email fits the form factor … It is not the exact part, and a higher current device needs to be found. I measured the device on the board and it looks to be about 3.2 mm x 4.5 mm.
My concern from the pictures at the very top of this email string is that there probably is a lot more blown than the part shown, since it took a lot of energy to blow the device.
Regards,
J.B.

Hello All.
After some time trying fix this issue, I could start my Slingbox PRO HD…. I had to replace 2 different component (first two in the board).
Everything is working fine… and SlingBox is perfect….
I've attached 2 pictures of my board… it's not beautiful, but it is working
JB and EVO, thanks a lot for your help.
Regards

Hi Daniel,
What name/number/parameters have components that you used to repair your Slingbox? D14 is a diode, looks like this one: http://www.soltronik.pl/download/1N%205408.pdf What are the parameters of FB13?
Two of my PRO-HD's are in blinking loop and won't get DHCP address, I think same components are malfunctioning. Another one is working sometimes, but probably the same component is damaged because I connected the power supply with wrong polarity.

Hello Woodland,
The seccond diod (D14) is a 1N4007 as described here: http://www.diodes.com/datasheets/ds28002.pdf
it's simple to remove and replace, but be careful with input/output (do not invert polarity).
First diod was not changed… just removed and replaced.
I was not the technical guy that replace this component but it's look easy to do.
Good Luck

Daniel boa noite,
Sabe onde consigo comprar aqui no Brasil?
Obrigado

Hello Pefredo
I am not a technical person, but during the time I was looking for help about my board (SlingBox Pro) I´ve learned some concepts about components.
Some friends told me that this FB13 maybe a diode bridge that just invert power polarity (reverse polarity protection diode). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode_bridge . It means, if you use a power supply that positive and negative are not in the right position, this first component will invert the polarity and send correct power to all board.
So, if it´s correct (I cannot garantee that) I believe that you have to look for this protection diode to be able to fix your board.
Different from you, my board was turning on but the logo led and network led was blinking. So I guess my problem was different… Now my boarding is working fine.
Awnsering your other questions, I can try provide support for your techinical support, but I am not one that knows a lot of it… I was just upset with my board and try learning some concepts to be able to solve it. So, I really don´t know too much to tell your technical support. In Brazil, I must say that in Santa Efigênia in São Paulo you will find a place to buy a componnet just like that, but I don´t know the specifications. It may be a 5v 1000mA diode bridget and it will fix it.
Sorry about delay to answer you and I hope you can fix your SlingBox…
Regards,
Daniel

Daniel
