My box was working fine, until I updated the firmware to v1.40.20 dated 4/30/2010.  So it HAS to be the firmware.  There is no way that I can find to reload the firmware, thinking that not all of it updated.  There is also no way to go back to the previous version.

It is easy to draw the conclusion that Sling wants us to buy new boxes.

My point is that Sling broke my box, so Sling needs to fix it by giving us all a free updated file to fix this issue ASAP.  Netflix is getting bad press for their decisions, it would not take much for Sling to get similar press over this issue.

Sling are you listening?

I realized sling corporate doesn't care too much about support of it's customers.
I have similar issue of Pro HD, where I get audio, but no Video.

It was working fine until about 12/31/2011 noon PST/US. Then for some reason, Pro/HD's BEST/HD quality stopped working while all other picture quality worked. After about 1more hours of watching, all the sudden, now no video works. This is wierld……….When I use sling mobile, I get audio, but no video. When I watch this on Sling webplayer(chrome+firefox), I don't even get an audio. Bit rate stays under 100 for some reason……(while the Solo I have setup to same video-audio cable split as backup gets 2800-3000 kbps).

Makes me wonder if this is issue of the capacitor blown like other people have had problem….
May be I should get a laptop cooling fan underneath like some people.
Anyone with similar problem?

So…
After about 10 hours of playing around, having my family recheck the cables and no work…..
I Fixed it!!!! and this is how.

I made another sling account with different email.

Made guest account and tryied to connect to it.

It failed to connect, but I noticed it was telling me error "Your band width was too low"

this was wierld because I never had that error before.

When I re-connected with my admin account, all the problems were fixed.

This is so wierld……..I know…..SB is like black box…….so unreliable. Too bad there's not much alternative.
Anyways, hope people can fix remotely all the problems. I think there are just too many hardware+software bugs. Good Luck>
I think I will place laptop cooler Mat+fan to avoid overheating.

It appears the Automatic setting no longer works for HD. Manually adjust the stream parameters – drop the video resolution and presto it does work and the bit rate comes back up.

Yup, drop the video quality to 640 x 480 and it works. I am getting 8Mbps and 27fps… Me thinks that the cable provider that now owns SlingMedia is screwing us by disabling HD…

Hi All,

I too was having the same problem and I tried adjusting the video quality without success.  Next, I opened the Slingbox Directory that showed my slingbox. I only have one, so I would guess if you have more than one, they will all show. Select the one you are having issues and 1 click to highlight it. Next, hit the edit key.

Select the Configuration tab (middle tab) and choose change audio/video setup.  Once I began this option, I immediately had video again. I simply followed the prompts as if setting up my SB for the first time and then save. All worked well.

After, I went back and changed my settings back to auto detect video and I was able to have the SB auto adjust based on bandwidth. I'm back in business. I hope this helps and works for you!
