Run and Test

Now just run the Slingplayer program and take a look at the remote. You should get whatever remote you normally use shown first. You can then select the remote menu or right click on the remote to see your other choices.

So in this case where my original remote was a Comcast one you can see my Tivo Always remote is a new option.

Hopefully it’s obvious that the TiVo keys won’t all work for a Comcast remote and some of the keyboard commands are different, etc. But Those could be changed also to completely make a different remote perform all of the functions that your original one does.

We will be addressing these options in later articles.

Notes:

1) You could delete some of the Links that may not pertain to you or your devices. As long as at least one of the links covers your device you should be good to go.

2) If something is not entered correctly or the player program cannot read the file due to typos it will disregard the complete file and your remote selection will not be shown.

3) if your “Show Remote” icon is grayed out, no remote at all is shown or you just want to revert back just delete the Tivo folder.

4) You may also edit any files directly in your\Remote\Tivo folder anytime you are not running the player program. But save your original files where you put them in the first place in the case that you need to go back to them.

If you have any questions don’t heistate to ask!
