Depending on what model of Sling box device you want to view on your computer there may be times when having both the newest stand alone SlingPlayer for Windows version 2.0.4.522 and Version of SlingPlayer for Windows 1.5.1.338 
available on the same computer.
For example you can connect and view a Dish VIP922 using the 1.5 version of the SlingPlayer program but not the 2.0 version.
By installing and renaming a few files this is easy to do.
You could do this by first installing the 1.5 version of the player program. If you already have the 2.0 version installed on your computer you will have to uninstall it first.
You can run the 2.o uninstaller but tell it to leave your previous settings and do not delete so they will be available when your reinstall 2.0.
Download and install Slingplayer 1.5
Download the latest Version of SlingPlayer for Windows 1.5.1.338 here. Then run the installer program. Get it up and running and connected to your Slingboxes as needed.
Rename the folder and icon
Go to where the Slingplayer program is installed on your computer. The folder it is installed to is C:\Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer. Rename the “SlingPlayer” folder something like “SlingPlayerOld”
Then go to your desktop and edit the icon that runs the Slingplayer program. Right Click on the “Launch SlingPlayer” icon and select ‘properties’ in the drop down menu.
Rename the SlingPlayer folder SlingPlayerOld and click on Apply.
Then click on the ‘General’ tab and rename the icon text to something you will remember like ‘Launch SlingPlayer Old’
Once done click on apply and OK. Then click on the icon and make sure everything works and there are no typos.
Install Slingplayer 2.0
Download and install the Stand alone SlingPlayer for Windows version 2.0.4.522 here. You should be able to install it without issue.
Once complete your should be good to go. You will have Two icons to launch the SlingPlayer program and can choose the one to use based on your needs.
I was able to successfully install v1.5 but when I try to install v2.0.4, I get an error message:
“Error: -1605 This action is only valid for products that are currently installed”.
I’m running Windows 7.
Any help, would be greatly appreciated!!

It sounds like you may have had Slingplayer 2.0 installed before and it did not get uninstalled properly before you installed 1.5.
You might revert everything and then uninstall Slingplayer and make sure there is no reference to either versions in your programs list. Then install 1.5 and go through the steps.
