Sling Media has announced that the SlingPlayer for connected devices beta will soon be coming to Google TV. that means
users with a SlingBox Solo or Pro-HD will soon be able to use Google TV to watch programming from their SlingBox on any Google TV with an Internet connection.
You will be able to extend your complete living room HDTV experience to any TV around your home, or another TV in any place where you have an Internet connection.
This is a great way to get more content on Google TV, which has seen content providers block access until they figure out how to license for it.
Word is, the SlingPlayer for connected devices is more of a stand alone WebApp than a native Android application.

A little late in the game. With so many platforms it could work on, apple tv, Rouku, and the numerous smart TV’s and Blu-Ray players……crazy and costly cheapest google tv solution is 299. Maybe will see the prices of the ebay slingcatchers come down now.
Maybe not so crazy with a price reduction on the Revue to $99.

[...] know why they decided to stop producing the Sling Catcher but it may be that they figured their new flash-based Sling Player could replace it. Which we are all still waiting [...]
Good replacement for Slingcatcher will be the Boxee box from D-Link. It worked very well and very close to Slingcatcher.
