Back in January at CES2010 we heard that Sling Media is going to support Adobe® Flash® Player and Flash streaming protocols in the Slingbox® Pro-HD and Slingbox SOLO soon. Here is there original press release. http://www.slingmedia.com/get/io_1262730441424.html
We have not heard much about it to date but it appears that it may be getting closer to reality.
The reason why they are going that direction is explained in their earlier press release.
“Now, any Internet-connected device that includes Adobe Flash Player 10 or is Adobe Flash-enabled will be able run the SlingPlayer application, such as media players, PCs, gaming consoles and mobile devices. The industry-wide adoption of Adobe Flash Player ensures that, as these devices and operating systems evolve, SlingPlayer will run on the widest possible set of platforms.”
The ability to use Flash will allow you to watch your SlingBox on your PS3 for example.
A helpful member tipped us off that they are working on it by showing off a virtual remote control Sling Media has created.
Check it out the virtual Comcast remote in the window below. This is from an actual SWF Flash file Sling Media has created. You can click on the buttons and move it around if you want to play with it.

Hopefully this is a sign that Flash for SlingBox is getting closer to fruition. Having the ability to Sling via a PS3 or a Flash enabled phone opens up a ton of new devices that you can Place shift with!
